PET/CT Imaging

Norwalk Radiology & Mammography Center now offers state-of-the-art PET/CT imaging.

Positron Emission Tomography, PET Imaging

PET/CT is a state-of-the-art imaging technique that combines positron emission tomography (PET) with computed tomography (CT) to image tissue and organ function. This scan is designed to identify even the smallest areas of abnormal metabolic activity, which is associated with various disease processes. This scan can also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of a patient’s treatment plan, and make adjustments if necessary.

PET/CT is used in the diagnosis of cancer, brain disorders (including tumors, memory disorders, and seizures) and other central nervous system disorders.
