Lung cancer screening can help improve your chances of beating lung cancer by catching tumors when they are very small. Norwalk Radiology's breakthrough
detection exam identifies lung nodules in the early stages.
If you're concerned that you or a loved one may be at risk for lung cancer, an innovative screening exam is now available at the Center that is quick, effective, and safe. Performed on the spiral CT scanner, the CT lung scan exam takes less than a minute, requires no prior preparation, and uses a low–dose of radiation. The lung cancer test is able to detect lung tumors at a much earlier stage than conventional chest x-rays, thereby increasing the potential for successful treatment.
Ideal candidates for a lung cancer screen are those who have:
Current or past history of smoking
Exposure to second-hand smoke
Exposure to cancer-causing agents
A history of TB or pneumonia
If the test finds you are at risk, our radiologists can work with your doctor to develop a plan for annual lung cancer screenings. Insurance coverage for CT lung cancer screening
varies; please check with your insurance provider or HMO before scheduling an appointment
