MRI breast biopsy is performed when an abnormality is seen on a breast MRI. At The Suite for Women's Imaging, digital MRI is used to guide the radiologist to the area of concern. An anesthetic is injected into the breast tissue that is to be examined, and a biopsy device designed specifically for MRI is then inserted into the breast by our radiologist. Tissue samples are extracted and sent to a pathologist for further evaluation.
